Does God really care what I do with the rest of my money? Finances may seem like an unspiritual topic. Yet two-thirds of Jesus's parables spoke directly about money or possessions. In the gospels, one of every ten verses addresses financial issues. In all of Scripture, over 2300 verses talk about money. Why did Jesus talk so much about money? Perhaps He knew that material and financial distractions could become Godâ??s leading competitor for our hearts, attention, and affection. God's message is clear. Without clear thinking and wise planning, Join us this Sunday as we continue THE NINETY series. We'll look at the role of SAVINGS (Proverbs 21:20) in God's plan for our financial freedom and peace. You've heard about the award-winning TV series, LOST. Stranded on an island after a plane crash, 48 people struggle to make their new life work. Just a TV show, right? Is real life all that different? Sometimes we feel stranded, alone, hoping someone will rescue us. We deal with anger, wondering why God lets bad stuff happen. We are ashamed of the stuff we've done, not sure if forgiveness is even possible. We feel LOST. (note: Message 2 in this series is not available due to technical difficulties during the recording process) Comments[2]

Fishing. It’s not on the top of my list of things to do in my spare time. Hate might be too strong of a word, but, to this point in my life, I definitely haven’t found fishing to be a joyful experience. I know others who love it. They invest their time and resources into it. They enjoy the experience, and, might I sadly add, are quite successful at it. They catch fish! I, on the other hand, catch no fish! After some honest evaluation, I have come up with some reasons why I might not be a good fisherman:
So why track ‘em down? Why trick ‘em into biting my fake fish snack on a hook? Just to end up in the hand of someone who at the point of capture holds their ultimate destiny in his hand? I might be open to fishing if it didn’t all depend on me. If someone promised to MAKE ME a fisherman. (Read Mark 1:16-18.) We begin a new 5-week message series called GO FISH that will explain how God wants to make us fishers of men and women. Discover how sharing your faith in today’s culture can be a natural, regular part of your daily life.

The best way to worship is to allow yourself to get lost in wonder. Many times it’s easy to hold a high esteem for God and be passionate about worship without allowing ourselves to sense His mystery and get lost in His wonder. Wonder is important because it gives us a sense of God’s otherness.Comments[1]

Acts 16:6-10 tells a story of Paul and Silas at the beginning of their second missionary journey. This little slice of life from the first century shows us how God’s will can be discovered in the ordinary affairs of life. What happened to these two guys often happens to us. This text reveals 4 principles on how God’s guidance comes our way.

Christmas is all about the crucial relationship God wanted to have with each and every one of us so much so that He came to earth to be our Savior. Jesus, entered the world as a baby, and was laid in a crib. For 3 weeks we’re going to dive into the Christmas stories, those accounts mentioned in Matthew 2 and Luke 2, to look at the different reactions people had to the crib. A Roman King was threatened by it; Wise Men from the East sought it; and the King of kings occupied it. Comments[2]

The following was the vision for a new kind of church laid on Pastor Steve Swan’s heart back in 2001 while in Jacksonville, FL seeking God’s will for his life and ministry direction. The result was the birthing of LifePoint Christian Church on January 27, 2002 in the Lake Mary/Sanford area for the purpose of leading people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Anybody need a miracle; a good dose of the supernatural? Well, if that stuff was still happening today the line would be longer than one for free debit cards in Louisiana. Too bad God doesn’t work like that anymore. Heal the sick, raise the dead, part some waters, undefeated season for the Jaguars. (Sorry, couldn’t resist!)
Or does He? Hmmm??? Has God changed through the ages? Has His way of working in our lives and the activities of the Church taken the scenic path? As we go RETRO and study the first century church we can’t ignore the fact that God’s supernatural power was alive and kickin’. Things happened that couldn’t be explained in human terms. So what about today? What about your life? What about in our community of faith we call LifePoint Church? Rediscovering Godâ??s Heartbeat For The Church
Retro is in. Sometimes itâ??s fun to go back to other eras to experience life as it was â??back then.â?? Sometimes itâ??s crucial! When it comes to church in the 21st Century, it is imperative we understand what Godâ??s heartbeat is for His Church. In this series, Retro Church, we will be taking a look in the book of Acts at the characteristics of the 1st century Church and how they apply today. The qualities Christ set forth shape our entire church vision and structure. Itâ??s my hope that through this study you will gain a broader understanding of what this â??church thingâ?? is all about and what your role is in Godâ??s Kingdom. LifePoint definitely has its unique thumbprint, but the core of who we are remains firmly fastened to the Church birthed by the Holy Spirit in Acts 2. Pop quiz. Name a handful of Sunday School lessons you heard as a kid that impacted your life. Okay, then name one. All right already, throw in church camp, youth group, private school. You can put your pencil down. Quiz over. I promise not to tell anyone your score. Mine would be embarrassing and I grew up in church and was exposed to all those educational environments. The greatest influence upon a child is their parent who in the normal walk of life lives out a personal faith in Jesus and shares life lessons on the move about following Christ. Opportunities to teach and train pop up everywhere – at home, ball games, in the neighborhood, while shopping, watching TV or listening to the radio together, while driving in the car, during dinner, at bedtime, etc. Message given by Steve Swan, Lead Pastor of LifePoint Christian Church. In John 10:10 it tells us that Jesus came that we may have life, and have it to the full. In this 3-week series called “Re-energizing Your Life,? Pastor Steve addresses three areas that tend to prevent us from experiencing life to the full: lack of passion, pressure, and out of whack priorities.
This message was given on Father's Day, June 18th, 2006.
This is part three of the Next Step series on worship. In this message, Steve and Phil share their understanding of what it means to worship and respond to God with our whole lives.
The best way to worship is to allow yourself to get lost in wonder. Many times it’s easy to hold a high esteem for God and be passionate about worship without allowing ourselves to sense His mystery and get lost in His wonder. Wonder is important because it gives us a sense of God’s otherness.
